Most of us would have done a trek in a forest at some point of time. Whenever the conversation comes up, i always hear that it was an amazing experience and would love to do it again.
Now, how about a stay in the forest? No, i am not talking about setting up a tent and staying in it. When i was in my teens i guess i could live in a tent. I need my comfort. That being said – i need a nice comfy bed with a clean toilet with Wifi. These are the necessities. Anything else will be a bonus. 🙂
As part of the trip, there was a plan to have a weekend stay in the forest located in Gloucestershire which is just off Coleford. There are a lack of pictures as i did not plan to blog this trip.
Upon arriving at the location, the sight was breathtaking. Now, don’t you think so too? I just stood there for a good 5-10 minutes enjoying the site before moving. Look at the lush greenery with the cabin in the distance. In my mind, i knew this would be a nice trail to have a walk.
After checking into the cabin and unloading all the items, it was time to check out the place. I saw a balcony!! I was as excited as a Kid when a candy is given (or these days an iPad ;p). I just love the outdoors and while sitting in there, all i heard was the sounds of different insects which were all around you. It felt quite a few degrees cooler as i guess we are in the middle of the forest and the tall trees kept us cooler. As it was approaching evening, i wanted to go for a walk before it gets late. I went out for a good 30 minutes walk around the area and simply loved it. The temperature was so nice and there were some paths which lead to some rope activities. I thought to do it the next day but it never happened.
After i reached back, i sat down in the balcony yet again. And i thought it would be a great time to have a dark ale which was purchased from the supermarket.
It was just lovely sitting outdoors while enjoying the drink. For the next 2 days, it was a mixture of chilling in the balcony and going for walks around.
Remember in the beginning when i said the main area with the cabins was a great spot for having a walk? Yes, i did that and it was about an hour odd walk around different areas. There were also different sections of plants which were growing.
Will i do this again? The answer is yes, definitely! It is rare that you have the opportunity to stay in a log cabin. Such a beauty it was and a memorable experience.
